Dragon Boat Festival

The Festival originated from the worship of natural phenomena, evolved from the ancient times by sacrificing dragons,

folklore Dragon Boat Festival is to commemorate the Qu Yuan, the Warring States period of the Chu poet Qu Yuan jumped into the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth month of May to kill himself,

the people of Chu do not let go of the wise minister Qu Yuan, in order to avoid Qu Yuan’s flesh by the river fish to eat, the people voluntarily swinging boats to dispel the fish,

or throwing rice balls into the river, in order to seek Qu Yuan’s flesh to be preserved. Later, this custom was passed down and gradually developed into the Dragon Boat Race and Duanwu custom of eating rice dumplings.
